LIFTOFF: Gravel & Swindell Set to Kick Off Ambitious 2016 Racing Season
Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida the first stop in 10-month long journey
CARLISLE, PA. – February 3, 2016 – It’s often been said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. For CJB Motorsports teammates David Gravel and Sammy Swindell, their journey in 2016 will be more than a thousand miles but the analogy rings true.
“We’ve got a very long schedule so it’s really important to get out of the gate quickly and strong,” said Gravel, the new wheelman of the Big Game Treestands, J.R.C. Transportation Inc., C&S Lawn & Landscape #5.
“We’re going into a long season,” said Swindell, driver of the Big Game Treestands, GoMuddy.com #1. “We’ve got several new things we’re trying to it’s an exciting time.”
The new CJB tandem will see their first on track action at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida as the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions begin their 2016 campaign. The racy 3/8th’s of a mile oval is known for featuring spectacular racing and will host two nights of racing on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th. Both drivers are looking forward to their first opportunity for seat time in the new season.
“Ocala is defiantly a track we are looking forward to,” said Gravel, who has competed at the track with All Stars before. “I’m really looking to get some seat time in. We’re needing to gel together as a team and these opening races will give us an opportunity to do that. I’m honestly kind of anxious to get going. It’s been awhile since I was in a race car so I am looking forward to getting in and knocking off the rust a bit.”
“It’s been a little while since I’ve been to Ocala,” explained Swindell, who recently completed another impressive run at the annual Lucas Chili Bowl Nationals. “We’ve trying some new things down there with or engines and cars. Paul Kistler really does a great job for us and we have some new things to try out. I’m excited and looking forward to starting the season down there. The race track is pretty cool.”
Once the checkered flag falls in Ocala, the series and CJB Motorsports will head 40 miles down the road to Volusia Speedway Park for annual DIRTcar Nationals.
The 2016 season begins as CJB Motorsports takes to Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida on Friday, February 5th and Saturday, February 6th.
