RAGING RUNNER UP: Marks Nearly Snatches Victory from Larson at Port Royal
Weekend off up next for CJB crew; BAPS on tap for the following weekend

CARLISLE, PA. - October 14, 2020 -  Brent Marks had the pass made.

He shot around race leader Kyle Larson on the high side coming off of turn two with only a handful of laps to go. Kerry Madsen rolling to a stop yards ahead of this battle brought out the caution lights and reset the field during the finale of the Nittnany Showdown at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway. With Larson back to the lead, Marks held on for second and wondered what might have been after the checkers flew.

The runner up finish on Saturday, October 10th and the half mile known as, "The Speed Palace,'" was an improvement over the opening night of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series double header.  During the Friday, October 9th event, Marks timed in 11th, finished fourth in his heat race and 15th in the feature.

Overnight, the CJB mad scientists, led by crew chief Barry Jackson, massaged on the #5 machine and watched the labor bear fruit as Marks timed in second , won his heat race and charged from eighth to second in the feature.

"That yellow (flag) Saturday night took the wind out of my sail," said Marks, pilot of the #5      Wolfrun Landscapes, , C&S Lawn and Landscape, Ecynbro Trucking machine. "We had a really good car and it's not often this season you get an opportunity to get by Kyle for the lead. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side but we were there at the end to win that race. We didn't get the best starting spot Friday night and the track was very fast making it difficult to move up through the field. We worked on things Saturday throughout the night and just kept finding more speed."

BAPS Motorspeedway will  host the CJB team next on Saturday, October 24th. Until the crew and their driver will take a well deserved back to recoup and regroup.

"I am really proud of the gains we have made in the last 50+ races," said Marks. "The team as a whole has gelled really well. We've gathered a ton of podium finishes, won some big races and have been in contention for wins at big races. I feel like we have a lot to build on for next season and I'm looking to finish this season out on a high note."
